Womens Conference

Last week I flew up to Utah to go to a Women's Conference at BYU. I've been wanting to go for years, but it never seemed to work out. So this year I just did it and Courtney, my mom, and sister came along too. It was so fun for the four of us to have this awesome experience together. I loved every minute of it and want to do it every year!
I went to six classes in two days and was amazed at how great ALL of them were...
"I Stand All Amazed: The Atonement & Personal Revelation"
"The Infinite Power of Hope"
"Nurturing Your Relationship with Your Married Children"
"Creating Conversations with Teens" (my personal favorite)
"Improving Our Perspective Through Humor"
"Then Will I Make Weak Things Become Strong"

I took a ton of notes and learned so much from these classes. I also loved listening to the various speakers in the Marriott Center before and after classes.
These are some of my favorite quotes from Women's Conference...
  • "To be untested and unproven is also to be unaware of all we can become." Neal A. Maxwell
  • "If you refuse to use technology you make the generation gap into a generation canyon!" Adriane Gill
  • "Every trial & experience you have passed through is neccessary for your salvation." Brigham Young
  • "The atonement gives us the power to do the hard things, not be excused from them." Steven Bednar
Thursday night we went to a concert where several artists performed. I was so excited to see Hillary Weeks (I love her music) and Jenny Oaks Baker (violinist)
There were thousands of women working on various service projects during the conference. We spent some time tying fleece blankets. It was really amazing to be part of it and to see how much we could accomplish together.I walked away from Women's Conference uplifted and stronger in my faith. I'm so happy I took the time to go and was able to share it with my daughter, mother, and sister.

What a great time!! I was planning on going too, but came down with the yucky flu! That would have been fun to run into you. I love the quotes, especially the one about trials necessary for our salvation! And I love Hilary Weeks too!

I loved the quote about technology and the generation canyon. Too true in today's society. I'm glad you went and next year I get to go too!
